80 s Fancydress ideas

Here's some more 1980s Fancydress ideas.

There are lots of fancydress ideas for the 1980s so much so I thought I would put together a second page.

If you missed it here is my first article on "1980s Fancy dress ideas".

1980s Television Fancy Dress

American TV shows were, arguably, never more popular than in the 80s. One of my favorites was the A-team. A team of ex U.S. soldiers were on the run but up for hire
to sort out any local gangs or hoodlums you may need to get rid of.
The most famous of the A team was B.A. Baracus (B.A. for Bad attitude, because he certainly had one). BA was played by Mr T famous for his Afro mo-hawk, masses of gold chains and muscles.

Dallas's J.R. (played by Larry Hagman) got shot in the early 1980s and we all waited in in bated breath for the new series to find out which one of his many enemies had shot him.
JR is a really affordable costume idea that can be easily put together ...
Simply wear a suit or jacket ,a buttoned up shirt (a western style if possible) with bootlace tie and ten gallon cowboy hat, you could even print out a fist full of pretend dollars to add to the effect.

Dallas and Dynasty were also known for the womens fashion of the time. The ladies dresses and outfits always had way over the top shoulder pads. Ladies if you fancy going to the party dresses like this there are a few fancydress costumes to choose from or you can still find plenty of original 1980s dresses which will fit the bill well.

But there were some great British TV series in the eighties too.

Breakfast TV began in the 80s and from it was born a self proclaimed superstar, yes Roland Rat!
A fun 80s fancy dress idea which is guaranteed to get your friends laughing. "yeah ratfans!"

Cartoons were good on the box too. Dangermouse, Duckula and of course Bananaman. Banana man is a popular fancy dress choice for men going to 80s or superhero parties, but don't be disappointed girls as there is also a fab Banana women costume for you too.

Dress as 80s toys

Dancing flowers were daisies dancing disco the the 1980s. Hard to believe now but people were amazed by these toy flowers dancing on their own! There is now a great dancing flower kit complete with flower head and guitar. All you need do is wear green clothing or get one of the very popular fancy dress items of the moment, the morph suit in green.

Rubik invented his famous puzzle in the 1970s but it made it's first public appearance in 1980.
The Rubik's cube became an absolute hit with young and old. Competitions were set up to see who could solve the 6 sided colour cube in the fastest time. Costumes are available for the Rubik's cube, either a large cube tabbard or a dress coloured in the cubes design with a Rubik cube head piece.

Super Mario Brothers, one of the big video games of the decade in the 80s. The Italian Plumber and his brother Luigi battled to save Princess Toadstool from the evil clutches of King Koopa. Mario is still very popular today and an easy fun fancy dress costume idea for any 1980s party.

Now it's time to decide what you want to be for your 80s fancy dress party. Below are some images of costumes which are available.
